However, as a creator in secondlife, I feel she is missing a small but valid point. SL is about enjoyment. Only a tiny percentage of residents make any real money. I create objects and sell them in a number of shops. If I make a few pennies thats great, but the enjoyment comes fom the creation. I have found many of my objects copied and re-sold. Who was it who said "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"? SL presents an economic challenge, but lets not lose sight of the fact that this is not RL, nothing is really lost, my children won't go hungry if my 'stock' is stolen. Creating is the joy, be it objects art or music. Grace, you founded 'musimmersion'. A wonderful creative experience. I am sure it didn't pay your electric bill, but did give you and hundreds of others pleasure. If someone, today, launches their own version, I hope you can sit back and smile and think "I made that". Sometimes we have to remember to detach virtuality from reality and just enjoy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
